Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2025

If you’re looking for an unforgettable running experience, 2025 is your year to run in Edinburgh, at any of the many distances available at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival!

You are invited to one of the most beautiful cities in the world and explore what Scotland’s historic and vibrant capital city has to offer.

For the Full, Half and Relay races, the fast and flat route takes in the city’s iconic sights before heading east for the coastline, making Edinburgh the perfect marathon choice whether you’re new to running or have set your sights on achieving a PB.

Sunday 25 May

Challenge yourself to the full 26.2 miles, tackle the half marathon (13.1 miles), or get together with your friends for the 'Hairy Haggis' Team Relay (full marathon distance broken down to four sections for a team of four).

A number of other distances are available on Saturday 24 May - including a 10k, 5k and lots of races for the kids!

Through your efforts, anything you raise through sponsorship for Cruse Scotland will ensure adults and children struggling with grief following a bereavement, receive the right help and the right time, giving them hope at a time when future may seem empty.

There are two ways to run in support of Cruse Scotland:

1. Visit edinburghmarathon.com then register and pay for your own place. You can raise as much or as little as you want - but every single penny will make a big difference. Get in touch and we can provide you with lots of fundraising support, hints and tips, as well as to say a big thank you!
2. We have a limited supply of free places for those who agree to endeavor to raise a minimum amount through sponsorship (excluding Gift Aid):
