102 miles run and over £6,000 raised

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival took place over the last weekend in May and we're so grateful to have our largest team of Cruse Scotland runners to date, across four distances.

May 31, 2023

Around 40,000 runners ran through the Capital over the 27/28 May in Scotland's biggest sporting event, and we are so proud of the seven participants who were running in support of Cruse Scotland at various distances in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

Congratulations and a massive thank you to our team who were each running in memory of a loved one, and who all pushed their limits to smash their goals, to raise funds that will offer hope to others struggling with grief.

Pictured above are; top left - Elisha (5k), bottom left - Lindsay (10K), centre - Douglas, Valerie and Zara (Half Marathon), and on the right - Claudia and Justyna (Marathon).

With funds still coming in, the collective total has surpassed £6,000 and we cannot say thank you enough to these inspirational runners for all their training, hard work, dedication and for choosing to support bereaved children, young people and adults in such an incredible way.

If you are inspired by these 7 legends, why not take on one of the challenge events coming up over the next year, all across the country. Whether you want to walk or run, a long or short distance, there is something for everyone. Check out our calendar or get in touch with Scott.maxwell@crusescotland.org.uk
