Aberdeen-coffee-morningCruse Bereavement Care Scotland relies on its highly professional team of volunteers to support bereaved people throughout Scotland. The value of the support we provide has been shown to be over five times the value of the funding we receive. However, this still means we need to raise approximately £500,000 each year to fund our work. These funds are generated through grant funding, donations and fund raising events run by our volunteers and supporters.

We do receive funding from the Scottish Government and the NHS at a national level through grants and commissioning and at a local level from the NHS and Local Authorities. We are indebted to a wide range of Trust funds for their support through grants for specific pieces of work.

Thanks also to those who support our work locally.

NE-Ann-Miller-who-ran-3-x-10K-Fund-RaisersDuring the course of the year our volunteers organise a range of fund raising events locally to complement our more formal funding streams. In addition we are grateful to our many supporters who raise money on our behalf. In recent years these have included the workers of Michelin Tyres plc in Dundee, Wheels in Motion who raised funds by riding from Lands End to John O' Groats, the Adam smith College Intern Team and Beverley Hope who took part in the London Marathon..

We are proud that our support for those struggling to cope with grief can be delivered free of charge thereby ensuring that it is accessible to all. This said, we recognise that many of our clients, grateful for our help, are keen to show their appreciation, so we make this possible by having a Client Donations process which allows donations to be made anonymously.

If you wish to support our work you can give a donation by going to our ‘Donate’ page.

There are many other ways in which you could help us:

    • A regular donation – would you be able to make a regular donation by standing order?
    • A bequest in your will - whilst this will not benefit us immediately, it will help to ensure the future of our service.
    • Sponsorship of a leaflet, poster or publication. Your valuable contribution to our work would be acknowledged.
    • Funding towards an additional staff member – help us strengthen our operations in a specific way
    • Sponsorship of an event or conference
    • Sign up for free to the Easy Fundraising Site

Please contact our Headquarters - 01738 444178 - who will be delighted to assist, or fill in our Enquiry form.
