Coming Soon: Practice Placement opportunities

Are you a student looking for a Practice Placement? We will shortly be welcoming applications. Learn more about the opportunity and if this volunteering role is right for you.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic and compassionate students who wish to support clients across the country as part of their placement, during set recruitment windows each year.

The next opportunity to apply will be in a few months time, so please check back here or follow us on our social media channels to keep up to date.

Thank you for considering to volunteer with Cruse Scotland and offering vital support - and hope - to those unable to imagine a future following the death of someone close.

About our Practice Placement Volunteers:

Applicants should be undertaking an advanced level of counselling skills/training at SQCF level 9/10/11, BACP, COSCA or other equivalent validated organisations. You must also have your ‘Readiness to Practice’ in place before applying. Please note we are not currently recruiting HND or DipHE level courses.

Our two-day Grief and Loss training is delivered before taking up a placement with us and all successful applicants are required to attend both training days, which are assessed. There will also be a two-hour local induction for those who successfully complete the training.

The training will be delivered via Zoom therefore you must have access to a PC/laptop/tablet for both training days. The format of the course is a mix of trainer led delivery, skills practice and eLearning. You should be prepared to engage in role play as part of this learning.
