Elena Fry

Elena is a retired solicitor. She was latterly an industry leading lawyer, partner, Litigation Management Board Member and Division Head with commercial law firm Brodies LLP, and was the strategic and operational lead of the firm’s Insurance & Risk practice through successive strategic growth cycles.

As a trusted advisor to organisations following business critical incidents, Elena helped her clients with dispute resolution, health and safety, risk management and regulatory issues. She acted in many catastrophic, sensitive, high profile and fatal incidents. During her legal career, Elena also sat on the Scottish Civil Justice Council, chaired FOIL Scotland and sat on the Law Society of Scotland’s Personal Injury Specialist Accreditation Panel.

Having acted for a range of organisations dealing with a variety of novel issues, Elena now uses her broad experience to mentor professionals facing business and/or career challenges.

Elena is passionate about the work Cruse Scotland does in supporting the bereaved, and brings her legal, leadership, business, advisory, and mentoring skills to her role as a Trustee.

Elena lives in Lanarkshire and enjoys travelling and keeping fit.
