Note: Children 12+ are welcome to contact us independently.
Children under 12 must have a legal guardian refer them on their behalf.
Children under 18 can also have a legal guardian refer on their behalf. 16/17 year olds can choose to either access services through our adult support or young person support.
For children under five we will generally work with the parent/guardian to provide grief support for the child rather than offering this directly to the child.

If a client has multiple needs-such as complex mental health challenges or substance-addiction challenges that prevents them from engaging with us, then we would suggest supporting them with this first, before referring them to Cruse Scotland for bereavement support.
If a client is currently undergoing therapy or counselling we also wouldn’t be able to provide bereavement intervention at the same time.
We do not provide any financial support or guidance and would encourage professionals and their clients to get in touch with their nearest citizens advice or debt charity for further exploration.

Further information can be provided to you with an information resource guide for professionals. If you would like a copy of this, or have any other questions please email: support@crusescotland.org.uk
