Munwar is a Policy Manager working for the Scottish Government, with interests in areas linked to social security, poverty and inequality. Previously he has held a number of policy and managerial roles within government as a Team Manager, Performance Manager, Client Experience Senior Officer and Senior Participation Officer.
He has a long connection with Cruse Scotland, having previously worked as an Area Manager. He is passionate about the organisation and its work and the importance of quality bereavement services. Having experienced bereavement, he has understanding of the impact and a need for culturally sensitive support at a time of grief.
Munwar likes travelling, spending time with his family (which includes his four daughters) and friends in his spare time as well as reading, gardening and going for walks. Munwar also has a wide experience of holding governance responsibilities across a range of third sector and public bodies including within employability, criminal justice, housing and health.
