Vanessa’s career in fundraising spans almost 30 years at both Scottish and UK wide charities, with the last two years spent as Head of Fundraising and Communications with baby loss charity, Simba. She is an experienced, award winning fundraising and communications leader with a successful track record in developing high performing teams, delivering new campaigns and rebranding initiatives, leading on stakeholder communications, crisis and change management.
Vanessa heads up the team which won the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Fundraising Team of the Year 2023 and is currently an active member on the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Scotland, which champions excellence in Fundraising across the sector. Vanessa also holds a Diploma in Fundraising Management.
Having benefitted both personally and professionally from Cruse Scotland’s services, Vanessa is delighted to bring her broad range of skills and experience with her to the Board.
Vanessa who lives in West Lothian, has two grown up sons and enjoys spending time with loved ones and practicing mindfulness.
