Do you enjoy the outdoors? We are seeking volunteers to join our walking groups for bereaved adults in Fife and Dundee.
Our Walk and Talk groups for bereaved adults in Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline and Dundee are a great way to meet new people with a shared experience of the impact of loss, whilst enjoying outdoor exercise and fresh air. Our friendly walks will last between 1 to 1.5 hours and will be suited to the ability of the group.
Volunteers will support the Walk Leader to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for the walk participants. You don’t need to have experience, but you do need to have a basic level of fitness. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to go on Paths for All Walk leader training. We are looking for people who are friendly and generally active. It would be helpful for volunteers to have:
You would be helping support bereaved people by giving them a chance to socialise and meet with others who have had similar experiences and to access the outdoors. If you are a caring and empathetic person who can help those we support to feel less isolated, more understood, cared for, listened to and supported we would value your contribution to our team.
If you are interested in this volunteer role, please get in touch with Mairi Morrison, East Area Manager at mairi.morrison@crusescotland.org.uk
